Google Colab Tutorial: Processing and Downloading Spatial Data with Google Earth Engine

In this tutorial, we use Google Earth Engine and Google Colab to process spatial data in Cali, Colombia, an area that often faces heavy cloud cover due to its proximity to the Pacific region. We calculate annual precipitation for 2024 from CHIRPS and export the raster, clip and visualize soil water content and texture maps, extract the ESA WorldCover land cover for 2021 with a custom color palette, then generate monthly mean NDVI composites from Sentinel-2 with cloud masking before exporting each NDVI layer. This practical tutorial helps to get accurate results despite Cali’s cloudy conditions and makes data processing accessible to everyone, from beginners to experienced users.
